On the morning of October 15, 2025, the Intellectual Property Office of Vietnam, in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture and Environment and the Ministry of Science and Technology, officially granted the Certificate of Geographical Indication “Lâm Đồng” for two coffee varieties—Arabica and Robusta—including green coffee, roasted beans, and ground coffee products.
Là Việt is honored to be selected as one of the pilot enterprises participating in the official announcement of the geographical indication for local coffee products. This milestone not only reaffirms the quality, reputation, and distinctive identity of Lâm Đồng coffee but also opens up opportunities for brand development, value enhancement, and the promotion of a sustainable production–processing–consumption chain. In his remarks at the ceremony, Mr. Lê Huy Anh, Deputy Director General of the Intellectual Property Office, emphasized:
“The protection of geographical indications not only strengthens the reputation and competitiveness of Lâm Đồng coffee but also creates opportunities to build a sustainable value chain, thereby affirming the position of Vietnam’s coffee industry in the international market.”

At present, coffee remains the key crop of Lâm Đồng Province, with a total cultivation area of 327,000 hectares—accounting for 45.02% of the country’s total coffee-growing area—and an estimated output of over 1 million tons in 2025, representing 50.49% of Vietnam’s total coffee production. The province currently has six high-tech agricultural coffee production zones with a total area of over 2,268 hectares, involving 1,404 farming households. To date, Lâm Đồng has achieved protection for more than 100 collective trademarks, certifications, and geographical indications, reflecting steady progress in developing intellectual property assets and strengthening local brand value.
